HOT VINYASA

 

Taught in a room heated to 90 degrees, this dynamic Yoga asana flow practice helps with detoxification via sweating.  Classes will have an emphasis on core work, standing postures, balancing postures, twists, and deep stretching.  Hot Vinyasa classes help Yoga practitioners learn patience and perseverance.  Many practitioners have reported improve musculature, weight loss, and healthier eating habits as a result of Hot Vinyasa classes.  Backbone Yoga offers Hot Vinyasa Basics class Tuesday night at 8:15pm.  This class is perfect for those looking to start a yoga practice.  For more experienced practitioners attending Hot Vinyasa Basics classes, more advanced variations will be given.

 

Backbone Yoga uses infrared heat as opposed to heated circulating air for the following reasons:

In the August 7, 1981 issue of the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) reported “regular use of a infrared sauna may impart a similar stress on the cardiovascular system, and its regular use may be as effective as a means of cardiovascular conditioning and burning of calories as regular exercise.” This means it’s possible for people in wheelchairs, those who are otherwise unable to exert themselves, and those who won’t follow an exercise/conditioning program, to achieve a cardiovascular training effect. Infrared heat increases blood flow, similar to that seen during exercise.
